Eli studied piano and composition at Berklee College of Music and was mentored by Broadway orchestrator Larry Blank (The Producers, The Drowsy Chaperone). He specializes in rendering the Great American Songbook with classics by the likes of Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen, Rodgers and Hart, the Gershwins, and many, many others. He served as Resident Pianist at Jazz Bistro in Toronto from 2014 until 2021 and presently performs at various Toronto restaurants including Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse. In addition to piano playing, Eli is a writer of comedic plays and musicals and has written a show with Broadway composer Henry Krieger (Dreamgirls, Side Show), which has been published by Broadway Licensing.
