Smokey Valley drum group was formed in the summer of 1994 during the Common Wealth Games in Victoria BC. From that summer on SV has attended many First Nations gatherings throughout the Pacific Northwest.

In the spring of 1995 the group was asked to perform for several schools in the Langley school district to share some songs & dances with the students. From that time on they formed their dance and music group. Now, Smokey Valley has become one of the most elite British Columbia drum groups, winning drumming & singing contests, and even producing albums of their own.
